Bitcoin: Why it matters, and where it's going
Let's start from the basics.
This talk focuses on Bitcoin; the oldest, most established, most valuable cryptocurrency. We explore the motivations behind the creation of Bitcoin and how it has evolved since its birth in 2009. We shall also explore the fascinating market developments responding to Bitcoin around the world; the mania, the hacks, the bans, the controversies and why, despite all odds, Bitcoin still manages to survive.
If you have a keen interest in cryptocurrencies but are at lost at where to start, this talk is for you.
The presenter of this talk will be. En. Affendi Ariffin; founder of Vardiz, treasurer of ACCESS (MY) and a financial analyst by profession. Affendi has been enthusiastically involved with cryptocurrencies since 2011. He has experienced the whole gamut of emotions related to this wonderful technology: worked hard (and failed) to get his former employer to take them seriously, made massive gains, victim of an exchange hack... he has many stories to share.
Affendi has presented on the topic to universities, corporates and government agencies alike.
P.S. This talk will be held in Indicine, the event room on the 1st Floor of KLPAC.
